Highland Ribs was formed in 2010 and are based at Inverness Marina. Headed up
by RYA/MCA commercially endorsed Yachtmaster & RYA Powerboat Instructor
Colin Barber, a veteran of the 2004/05 “round the world” yacht race and a previous
member of BP's prestigious “ocean racing team”, Highland Ribs will strive to offer a
safe, professional and exhilarating service using only top quality craft, equipment
and personnel.

• Company Objective
The objective of Highland Ribs is to conduct its business in a manner that does not have a detrimental effect on the Flora and Fauna and to ensure we leave no trace of our presence in the areas in which we operate.
• Environmental Policy
We are committed to continuing to improve our environmental performance, minimising our environmental impact and making resource efficiency a core requirement of all our operations. We have invested in fuel efficient 4 stroke Suzuki engines, fitted fuel flow meters to help monitor our fuel efficiency and so reduce our Carbon burn.

Highland Ribs are full members of Inverness Chamber of Commerce, Wild Scotland, RYA and the RNLI, accredited to WiSe (Wildlife Safe aims to promote responsible wildlife-watching, through training, accreditation and awareness-raising) we are also supporters of the Dolphin Space Programme
• Insurance
Highland Ribs is fully commercially insured for all passengers and equipment, Has £3,000,000 Third party liability, £10,000,000 Employers Liability and £2,000,000 Public Liability Insurance
• Safety
Highland Ribs try and emulate the same attention to safety and good operating practice that the aviation industry has developed. We go beyond the industry standards to actively minimise risks within our operation. All or skippers are commercially qualified, trained in first aid and sea survival.
Our Rib (Rigid Inflatable Boat) is a 7.8 meter Commercial Ribcraft design. It fully
complies to MCA (Maritime Coastguard Agency) CAT 3 and so is able to operate up
to 20 Miles from a safe haven. Coded for 10 passengers and carrying Life safety
equipment to SOLAS B standard, she is equipped with all the very latest electronic
equipment including, Chartplotter, Radar, VHF Radio and powered by a single
250hp Suzuki engines.
